Troubleshooting Guide: 

Using AirDrop between iOS Devices



Issue:
Possible Solution: 
AirDrop menu is unavailable in share sheet.
Ensure your device’s WiFi and Bluetooth are toggled “on.”
Recipient’s device does not appear.
Ensure recipient’s device has WiFi and Bluetooth toggled “on.”
Recipient’s device does not appear, but WiFi and Bluetooth are on.
Ensure that the recipient’s device is unlocked, with its screen active. 
Recipient’s device does not appear, but screen is on, and WiFi and Bluetooth are on.
User and recipient switch AirDrop Receiving permissions to “Contacts Only” (if a contact) or “Everyone” via Control Center.
Recipient appears in AirDrop menu, but file transfer does not complete.
·      Try sending a different file.
·      Restart device by holding down power button. 
After all above steps including device restart, AirDrop continues not to work.
·      Check router to ensure WiFi is functioning.
·      Check for a software update in Settings, and update device as needed.
AirDrop is not working after all above steps, including software update.
Contact Apple for support.
